I read a lot and a listen to quite a number of podcasts. So many of these have been instrumental in helping me change my mindset, that it would be irresponsible of me not to share those resources with you.

Personal Growth Book Recommendations
The Energy Bus: 10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work, and Team with Positive Energy
by Jon Gordon. This book was recommended to me by a friend who upon learning my job title was “Health, Happiness, and Success Coach” thought I might enjoy it. He figured I’d already know all that the book covered, and while I did know (and apply) some of the ten rules, it was good to get a new perspective on them plus learn some others. This book is a quick read and told as the story of a man whose life is spiraling downward quickly until he happens upon Joy, the driver of the Energy Bus, who along with her regular riders, explains the rules and how to apply them.
The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life (Before 8AM)
by Hal Elrod. The book that totally changed my life. Want to find more time in your day? Want to be more productive? Read this book, get up early, follow Hal’s Life SAVERS every morning. I have recommended this to so many people. Everyone who has taken the initiative to get the book and do the Life SAVERS has sought me out to thank me for recommending Miracle Morning to them. Everyone. Oh – and Hal has a podcast too (see below).
THE ONE THING:The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results
by Gary Keller with Jay Papasan. If you feel overwhelmed by all the little things in life (email, texts, calls, meetings, laundry) then this book will take you step by step through how to figure out what your big picture goals are and how to get there. It all boils down to finding the ONE thing in every area of your life.
Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action
by Simon Sinek. It doesn’t matter what business you’re in, or even if you’re in business at all – you need to read this book. The most important thing to know as you do anything is WHY. What and how you do things should reflect your purpose – your why – for doing them. Success comes from the why. Read this book, and then read the book below, Law of Attraction.
Law of Attraction: The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don’t
by Michael Losier. Personally, I get a little squeamish around anything that has a “new age” feel to it, but Michael Losier does not present the Law of Attraction that way at all. He is a certified NPL (Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a technology of psychological and behavioral modification) practitioner; and I’m all about the power of language. It’s a great feeling when things are aligned in your little universe, and this book will help you make that happen – with words.
Spark Joy
by Marie Kondo. This is the companion book to her best-selling The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. No one has ever used the word “tidy” to describe me. I can be organized about many things, but being neat and tidy is a chore – or it had been. This book gave me great insight into a method that has helped me make a noticeable dent in my cluttered life.
How Successful People Think: Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life
by John Maxwell. The first personal growth book I read when I started my Miracle Mornings (see book above). Lots of good nuggets of information about leadership, creativity, and success. I go back to this book every few months and at least read the parts I highlighted and the notes I made; once a year I reread it in full.
Up: How Positive Outlook Can Transform Our Health and Aging
by Hilary Tindle, M.D., M.P.H. This book is a bit more technical. If you are interested in information on the studies done regarding positive outlook and health, then this is where you want to start. Written for the non-medical professional, there are many insightful tips and lessons throughout the book.

Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World
by Michael Hyatt. Great book for getting step by step directions to improve your platform (the means of getting your message/product out there, be it blog, podcast, social media, or other platform). While a good read from cover to cover, I use it more as a reference source, referring to chapters as I need them.
